MASTERTON GUN CLUB
CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION.
WON BY JIM McKENZIE.
On Saturday the Masterton Gun Club held the 21-yard championship (21 birds). There was a good attendance of members and friends. The shooting was again of a rather poor standard. the highest score of the day being that of Jim McKenzie, who secured 18 hits and won the 1939 championship. The following are some of the leading scores:—Jim McKenzie. 18; Don McKenzie, 17; C. E. Grey, 16; R. J. King. H. K. Smith. 15. Twelve other competitors took part but retired at various stages in the competition. A sweepstake of two misses out followed and was won by C. E. Grey. Next Saturday a clay practice shoot will be held. This will be followed by the clay championship on Saturday, September 12.
