AERO ACTIVITIES

LANDING AND BOMBING INTERESTING COMPETITIONS. AT THE HOOD AERODROME. Conditions that were not conducive to good flying prevailed at Masterton yesterday, when landing and bombing competitions were conducted at the Hood Aerodrome to select pilots to re- 1 present Masterton and Martinborough in the inter-branch competition with Dannevirke for the J. W. Buchanan Cup. There were fifteen entries all told. The competitions were watched with considerable interest by a large crowd of spectators who, considering the trying conditions, were treated to some excellent flying. The teams to represent Masterton and Martinborough will be announced later, as will the date of the competition. Details are as follow: — Landing Competition. A..W. Buchanan 1 J. V. Reid 2 Bombing Competition. A. W. Horton 1 J. R. Wendon 2
