ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS
MASTERTON LODGE. QUARTERLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. At the quarterly summoned meeting of Loyal Masterton Lodge. P.G. Bro E. J. Mooney presided over an excellent attendance of members. An apology for absence was received from I.P.N.G. Sister P. J. Wilton. A fraternal welcome was extended to Sister Arens, of Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge, and Brother H. G. Johnstone, Loyal Dannevirke Lodge. Both replied, conveying fraternal greetings from their respective lodges, and also expressing appreciation at the warmth of welcome accorded them. Correspondence from members residing in other centres and Sister Lodges was read and received. Accounts for sick and other benefits totalling £65 5s 4d were passed for payment. A letter was received from Bro H. S. M. Quigley, P.G.M., stating that the Loyal Dannevirke Lodge had elected a committee to select a strong team for the annual football match with players from the Wairarapa Manchester Unity Lodges which is to take place at Masterton on the afternoon of Saturday. September 16. Bros E. J. Mooney, W. A. Palmer, J. Harris and P. M. Smith were appointed a committee to make all necessary arrangements. A circular was received from Bro F. A. Davis, secretary of the M.U. Wellington District Hospital Association, relative to a general meeting of members, which is to be held at the Loyal Brittania Lodge room on Saturday evening. The business to determine the future activities of the Association. After a discussion it was unanimously resolved, on the motion of P.G. Bro F. H. Knowles, seconded by P.G. Bro R. C. Baikie, that the No'. 4 remit be supported. Bros S. V. Gooding, R. C. Baikie and P. M. Smith were elected delegates to represent the Lodge. P.G. Bro W. A. Palmer reported that the Social committee had arrangements well in hand for the dance to be held on Saturday, September 16, and that the Dannevirke football team were to ■be the guests of the Lodge. P.G. Bro R. Read conveyed an invitation from the officers and members of Court Loyal Enterprise, A.C.F. to a return match of indoor bowls. After the lodge closed the sisters provided a dainty supper for which they were were warmly thanked.
