PURCHASE PLAN IN UNITED STATES. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. NEW YORK, August 31. It is announced that the Uriitcd States Government is speeding up the purchase of war materials such as manganese. chromium, tungsten, and tin, for which 100,090,000 dollars was approved by Congress last session. Ten million dollars has been appropriated as the first step in a four-year plan, but the amount is likely to be greatly increased.
