CLOSER CONTACT WITH FARMERS DESIRABLE. STEPS TO IMPROVE POSITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A suggestion that there was room for closer contact between the rank and file of ordinary farmers and the Meat Board and that steps be taken to improve the position was made by Mr Hammond (West Coast district) at the annual meeting of the Electoral Committee. ■ '. Mr Johnstone (South Canterbury) said a remit was passed yesterday by the Electoral Committee which, if ap-’ proved, would help considerably in the matter. When rank and tile farmers realised the work the board was going there would be no whispering campaign going on behind their backs.
