Southern district motorists are already showing a great interest in the North Island, with the approach of the Centennial celebrations. Mr P. F. Harre, secretary of the Otago Automobile Association, reported that inquiries were pouring in, these covering information regarding the booking of motor-cars from Lyttelton to Wellington, camping accommodation at Wellington and environs, and North Island scenic routes. Already, said Mr Harre, passages for motors on the express steamer from Lyttelton were fully booked from December 20 to 25. this being a record in early booking. With such advance interest being displayed it seems certain that there will be a big exodus from the south once the exhibition is opened.
