WOMEN’S HOCKEY

DOMINION TOURNEY. WAIRARAPA STILL UNBEATEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM. August 29. The third day’s play in the Dominion women’s hockey championships saw three drawn games, two in Section A. where an interesting stage has been reached with Canterbury and Marlborough A unbeaten. Poverty Bay played outstanding hockey to take the strong Marlborough side to a scoreless draw. In the other section, Eastern and Wairarapa are still unbeaten. It appears that Eastern will win section B. but Wairarapa will be strong opponents if they beat Wellington tomorrow. The weather continues fine and the grounds are in excellent order. Results: — Section A —Poverty Bay 0, Marlborough A, 0; Ashburton 4, Feilding 1; Auckland 1, Canterbury 1. Section B —Wairarapa 1. Wanganui 1; Wellington 6, Southland 1; Eastern 9, Marlborough B 0.
