Montreal. — Canada’s 1939 Eastern

Arctic Patrol to the Hudson Strait and Bay. and to islands of the Arctic Archipelago, sailed from this port on July 8 aboard the R.M.S. Nascopic. The patrol will call at 48 posts and outposts and before its return in September will travel approximately 12.780 miles. Supplies and mail will be delivered to government medical officers, Royal Canadian Mounted Police posts, hospitals and missionaries in the Canadian Arctic in addition to supplies for the many Hudson Bay Company stores scattered throughout the North. Fur pelts, the principal products of Canada’s Arctic, will be loaded on board the Nascopic from these outlying posts.
