The main features of the quarterfinals in the Australian amateur and professional golf championships were ,1. Ferrier's defeat of the Victorian W. Wishart, 4 and 3, in the amateur section and N. von Nida's elimination from lhe professional competition by the Victorian E. Naismith, 5 and 3. Should Ferrier win the amateur title again he will set a world record by winning twice in succession the Australian open and amateur titles.
