ALL UNITS AT WAR STATIONS CONCENTRATIONS ON POLISH FRONTIER. SLOVAKIA UNDER NAZI CONTROL. WARSAW, August 29. The Danzig Senate has forbidden the passage of a goods train from Danzig to Poland. The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press says it is claimed that Germany military preparations' have been completed, and that all units are at war stations. “The Times” correspondent at Bratislava likewise states that slackening troop movements in Slovakia indicate that the German preparations are complete. Nearly 300,000 men are mobilised on the Slovak-Polish frontier ready to attack in three columns via the Vag Valley along the road from Zvoln, and along the road from Presov. The Germans control the railways and post offices. The publication in Germany of the letters exchanged by Herr Hitler and the French Premier, M Daladier, under huge headlines, surprised Germans, who are not accustomed to being informed of such important matters. Children are in high spirits. They found most of the schools closed or occupied by reservists. Mothers are less happy, facing the first day of ration cards. NEW PEACE EFFORT CONFERENCE IN BRUSSELS. LONDON, August 29. The British. French, German and Italian Ambassadors and the Polish and Hungarian Ministers in Brussels had a conference with the Belgian Premier. Mr Pierlot. It is described as a new endeavour to prevent war, initiated by King Leopold of Belgium and Queen Wilhelmina of Holland. The German Minister in Copenhagen assured the Government that Germany would respect Danish territorial integrity provided that Denmark remained strictly neutral in the event of war.
