GUN DOG TRIALS
NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONNSHIP. MASTERTON OWNER GAINS THIRD ON RE-COUNT. Advice has been received from Mr S. C. Rod. of the Hutt Valley Gun Dog Club, that an unfortunate error was made in totalling the points secured in the North Island field and water championship, which is decided on an aggregate. It now transpires that Mr R. V. Mason’s (Masterton) F.T. Ch. Labrador Silky Sue, which was previously unplaced in the championship, on the re-count takes third place. The revised placings are thus: — P. R. Rose’s (Lower Hutt) F.T. Ch. Labrador. Shotover Sheila 1 R. W. Plunket's (Lower Hutt) Irish Setter. Redstone Tawa 2 R. V. Mason’s (Masterton) F.T. Ch. Labrador. Silky Sue 3 Field trial followers and indeed all sportsmen associated with dogs will regret to learn that the winner, Shotover Sheila, was instantly killed on Monday last through being run over by a rail-car at Lower Hutt. ii 111 r i ■wi—inrumiinmrirtwwitawewMai
