Miss Kerr, of Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs J. H. Hudson, Eketahuna. Mrs Gaze has returned to Carterton from Wanganui, where she has been visiting a sick relative. Mr and Mrs Strang, of Waipawa, are visitors to Masterton. and are staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Miss Mollie Hudson, assistant teacher at the Island Bay school, is visiting Eketahuna for the term holidays. Miss Gaze, of Wanganui, is spending the school vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs Gaze, of High Street, Carterton.
Mr and Mrs Henry Hawke, of Auckland, and formerly of Greytown, celebrated their golden wedding on Friday last.
Mrs E. Jewitt, of Haunui, who underwent a serious operation recently in a private hospital in Pahiatua, is progressing well.
The Rev. Mr and Mrs McDonald will be guests of Mr and Mrs J. H. Conly, Essex Street, Masterton, during the weekend. Mr and Mrs McDonald rendered splendid service to the Kuripuni Church when they resided in Masterton some years ago, and many friends will be pleased to renew their happy associations with them.
Prior to leaving the employ of the firm of Messrs Krahagen and Chapman, Masterton, Miss E. Carter, who was a very popular member of the staff and who is to be married next week to Mr G. E. Wainscott, was the recipient of several handsome and useful presents from the firm and the employees. All wished Miss Carter happiness and success in hex’ new sphere of life. Miss Carter suitably replied.
