DAIRY COMPANY ANNUAL MEETING OF SUPPLIERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The annual general meeting of the Pirinoa Co-operative Dairy Company was held recently when Mr D. S. Warren, chairman of directors, presided. The seventeenth report and balance sheet revealed that the output of chese for the season was 90.794 tons, being a decrease on the previous year of 4.32 tons. Factory buildings and plant are in good working order. In respect of the previous season the estimated season average payout per pound for butterfat (all grades) which was quoted in the report was 16.457 d for that year, and the actual season average payout which was finally made was 16.580 d. In respect of the current year, cheese in store for export has been valued at the guaranteed price according to grade, and local cheese at 7d per lb., and the estimated season average payout per pound of butterfat (all grades) which should result therefrom is 17.757 d. The directors do not recommend the payment of a dividend on share capital. The retiring directors (Messrs R. McDougall and G. J. Gillies) are eligible for re-election. Mr L. H. Smart is eligible for reappointment as auditor. The chairman in moving the adoption of the report commented favourably on the report and stated that considering the size of the factory the payout compared more than favourably with concerns of a larger size. The chairman also congratulated the manager (Mr H. Smith) on the efficient manner in which ho had carried out his duties. Messrs G. Gillies and R. McDougall, together with the auditor (Mr Smart) were re-elected. The following comprise the directorate, of which at a subsequent meeting, Mr D. C. Warren was re-elected chairman: —Messrs Warren, McDougall, Gillies, T. Hume, L. Bell. The local cheese factory has commenced the season’s operations. Personal Items. Mrs G. Mclsaac, who has been in hospital, has returned home. The Misses McDougall are spending the school vacation with their father, Mr R. McDougall. Mr Stan Thomas, the popular post-, master, together with Mrs Thomas and family left on Tuesday for Taumarunui, where they will stay with Mrs Thomas’s parents. During Mr Thomas’s absence, Mr Clayton will be the relieving officer. Mrs Patchnatz, Lower Hutt, was the guest of her sister,, Mrs R. Piripi, for a few days. Miss M. Te Whaiti has returned to the district after an absence of two months and is now staying with her aunt, Mrs W. Enoka. Mrs Swan. Wellington, is staying with her daughter, Mrs Trevor Hume. Mrs Geo. Hume and her daughter, Mrs Cowper, were among the guests at the recent Green and Gold Ball. Mr and Mrs Tom Harvey, who have been residents of the Kahutara district for a number of years, have taken up their residence in this locality.
