(Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, August 25. A terrific explosion reduced the centre of Coventry to a shambles. Aleague details include a report that three 'men and one woman were arrested immediately after the explosion.
It is believed that five persons were killed and hundreds injured. There are thousands of pounds worth of dam ■ age to shop fronts and windows in the chief thoroughfare, Broadgate, which is ankle-deep in shattered glass. Buses and trams were damaged. It is believed that an I.R.A. dump blew up.
