HERR HITLER’S REPORTED INTENTIONS SOME WIDE-RANGING SPECULATION. CHANCE OF PEACE OFFER. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 9.20 a.m J BERLIN. August 25. Herr Hitler is reported to be in high spirits and is at present putting the finishing touches to his Tannenberg speech in which it is believed he will state his case on Sunday, and act on Monday, but others consider that he will issue an ultimatum clearing up the situation at the Nazi Party Congress. There is just a chance that Herr Hitler may announce a peace offer, necessitating radical changes throughout the world.
INTERVIEW IN BERLIN
SIR N. HENDERSON SEES HITLER. PRESUMABLY ON FUEHRER'S INITIATIVE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 11.5 a.m.) RUGBY. August 25. It is reported from Berlin that Sir Nevile Henderson (British Ambassador) has seen Herr Hitler. As Sir N. Henderson had received no instructions from London to seek an interview with Herr Hitler, it was presumed here that the meeting took place on the latter's initiative. Later it was stated in official quarters that "Sir N. Henderson, who, as has already ben reported had a conversation today with Herr Hitler, is flying to London tomorrow morning in order to make a report to Viscount Halifax. Sir N. Henderson is not expected to make a long stay in Britain."
