YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
SUCCESSFUL DANCE. HELD IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT. Following on the outstanding success of its previous ventures, the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club dance held in the Municipal Hall last night, was a most enjoyable gathering. The hall was tastefully decorated, and the floor was crowded with dancers. Udy’s Orchestra provided the music. A telegram was received from Mr. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, expressing his regret for not being able to attend owing to Parliamentary business. Captain Barrington, Central Command recruiting officer, spoke briefly and referred to the splendid support received from the Young Farmers in the recruiting campaign. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee consisting of Mesdames W. James, P. McLachlan. O. Wyeth. W. Taylor, J. James, L. Wilton, N. Lamont, W. F. McLaren, N. Blatchford. J. McKenzie. Junr., J. Gray. E. Shaw, D. McLachlan, E. Wilton, H. Bannister and Miss Welch. Messrs. D. McGregor and G. Blatchford were efficient M.’sC.
