VISITORS TO SYDNEY
MANY MASTERTONIANS. After a sojourn of seven years in England, a visitor to Sydney is Mrs Wulstan Roberts, elder daughter of Mr Harley Donald and the late Mrs Donald, of Masterton. Mrs Roberts and small son Warwick (who was born soon after her return to Sydney) are staying with Mr Donald arid his younger daughter, Shirley, at Potts Point for some time. Rosemary, the elder Roberts child, remained in Essex with her grandparents. Mr Roberts, who is a ship’s officer, is expected in Sydney before long. Also in Sydney of late has been Jean Lawrence, an old school-fellow of Mrs Roberts’s from Masterton, who has been living in England for some years. Miss Lawrence, who now resides in Auckland, has travelled extensively. One of her most recent trips was on a banana ship through the West Indies. Another Mastertonian visiting Sydney is Miss Eunice Robieson of Pownall Street. For many years Miss Robieson was associated with the Masterton Golf Club and was a familiar figure at provincial tournaments. With her sister, Mrs Pierce Freeth (also formerly of Masterton, Miss Robieson has taken a fiat at Cremorne. As Mrs Freeth formerly resided in Sydney with her late husband, the well-known journalist (who was at one time on the staff of the “Wairarapa Daily Times”) she has renewed acquaintance with many old friends. Mr Hugo Freeth, editor of “The Press” in Christchurch, is her elder son. Vincent, her second son, is now settled with his family in Sydney, where he conducts an advertising agency.
