Hungary, in the event of war, will close the Bolish border but for the supply to Germany of foodstuffs, and will take normal precautions. “The Times” Rome correspondent says that although Rome appears calm, reports from the country show that normal precautions are being carried out. Motor lorries have been commandeered and several ships detained at ports. In Baris, complete calm prevails. Street lamps were darkened tonight. Gradual mobilisation is continuing. The Government has ordered the requisition ol al] factories working for national defence. In Brussels the Cabinet, at an emergency meeting, decided upon special measures Io assure a supply of provisions. Soldiers have been recalled from leave and the frontiers manned.
