PLOUGHING MATCHES

PROPOSAL FOR WAIRARAPA DISTRICT. INQUIRIES BEING MADE. Further consideration of a proposal to conduct ploughing matches in the Wairarapa was given yesterday at a meeting of the general committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association. A letter was received from Mr W. A. Tod. of Otane. setting out the conditions under which ploughing competitions were held in the Hawke's Bay district. The secretary. Mr R. H. Williams, was instructed to ascertain the names of al! persons interested in the project with a view, if sufficient support was furthcoming, to forming an association.
