The Rev. D. McNeur, of Masterton, presided. The purpose of the meeting was the appointment of a new minister, and it j was unanimously agreed to extend a call to the Rev. W. J. Couling, of Geraldine to the Carterton-Gladstone circuit. It is expected that the induction will take place at Carterton to- | wards the end of September. SUPPLY OF MILK INCREASE AT FACTORIES. The supply of milk at the various dairy factories in and around Carterton shows an increase on last year’s total. At Belvedere, owing principally to some suppliers from the now defunct Taratahi factory having joined up, there is a marked increase. At this, time last year the milk received was contained in one vat, but this morning a second vat had to be used; thus the supply in quantity is three weeks ahead of that of last year. The Dalefield factory officers report that they are receiving a slightly increased quantity of milk as compared with last year. Parkvale is similarly situated. At present it looks as though this year’s supply of milk at Wairarapa will be larger than last year. This, of course, will mean a larger output of cheese at those factories which manufacture that commodity. FIRE BRIGADE GATHERING The Mayor and councillors of Carterton have received an invitation from the Fire Brigade ball committee to be present at the function to be held on Monday evening next. HINEMOA HOCKEY CLUB SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The Band Hall was crowded when the Hinemoa Ladies’ Hockey Club held a dance to augment the fund established to provide money to enable the girls to attend the annual tournament which will open at Blenheim next week. Dancing was kept going to music supplied by Te Tau’s Orchestra. During the evening the draw for trophies took place. Mr C. Jensen was the winner of a beautiful cushion, and Mr Arch Clark was the winner of the toilet set. A dainty supper provided by the ladies was served. The Wairarapa hockey girls will leave on Friday for Blenheim to take part in the annual ladies' tournament. Personal. Mr and Mrs Fred. Clark, of Wyndham Street, Carterton, will leave on Saturday next to take up their residence in Featherston.
