Mrs Adams, of Queen Street. Mas terton, is on a visit to Wanganui.

Mrs D. Cameron and Miss K. Cameron, of Hinakura, are visitors to Wellington. Miss B. Laing, "The Peaks,” is among the guests at the Hotel Midland, Masterton.

Miss Grant, of Alfredton, is a visitor to Dunedin where she will spend the term holiday. Miss Leighton-Jones, of Wanganui, is on a visit to Masterton and is staying at the Hotel Midland.

Miss E. A. Gaze, of Wanganui, is spending a holiday with her parents, High Street Carterton.

Miss W. Hitchen, of Carterton, is spending the school vacation with her parents in Christchurch. Mrs D. Wallace, of Levin, is on a visit to Masterton, and is staying with her son, Mr W. D. Wallace, of College Street.

Mrs L. Brooks of Palmerston North, is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of her mother, Mrs F. Petersen, Essex Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs W. D. Scott and Mrs W. Olsen, of Eketahuna, were visitors to Trentham on Saturday for Iho wedding of Mr Scott’s sister. Miss Jean Douglas and Mr D. M. Douglas, Powna’ll Street, Masterton, returned to Masterton yesterday from a weekend visit to Hawke’s Bay. Mrs G. G. Hancox, of Renall Street, Masterton, who has been on a vi<it to Palmerston North, has returned to Masterton, but will leave again tomorrow to spend a holiday at Palmerston North.

Mrs Dysart, who has been assistant at the Nireaha sqhool for the past three years has accepted a position at Palmerston North Central School and will commence duty on September 4. The many friends of Mrs Percy Welch, who recently underwent a serious operation in Glenwood Private Hospital, Masterton, will be pleased to hear that she is making satisfactory progress towards recovery.

One whose association with Auckland dated back to its earliest years, Miss Kate Keesing, died on Saturday at the age of 33. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Abraham Keesing. who first settled in Auckland in 1842.
