WRESTLING

FORSTER v PINDER. Frank Forster, leading South African wrestler, and Prince Bhu Pinder, who ranks third among the Indian wrestlers, will meet in the professional heavyweight bout at Masterton on Tuesday night. Forster has established a reputation for fast and vigorous displays. The spectacular manner in which ho executes his mule kicks, and his all-round wrestling ability have made him a noted addition to this year’s mat forces. He has a .number of unorthodox holds and forces the issue the whole way. Bhu Pinder, like Forster, has come into New Zealand in an effort .to take Earl McCready’s British Empire title home with him and from the manner in which he opened up his tour with a win -over "Lofty” Blomfield. the New Zealand champion, it is obvious that his prospects must not be, lightly regarded. Indian wrestlers are accepted in this country as men who possess unusual mat guile and are also well equipped with holds, many of which are distinctly unusual. Pinder created a sensation at Auckland by taking a fall oft' Blomfield with an Indian crab hold. He started wrestling when he was twelve years old at the Great Gama’s school al Lahore. After some matches on the China coast, he went to America, where he quickly became a big success, gaining wins < over many prominent wrestlers such as Kruse, Szago, Rumberg, Forsgren, and Kashey Contenders for the Wairarapa championships will be included in the amateur preliminaries, and all will be keen to show their paces, so that the whole programme will be interesting. The box plan .is now open at Orange's, Queen Street, Masterton and Colson’s Book Shop. Carterton, where booking i,s free.
