INDOOR BOWLS
♦ MASTERTON CLUB. SINGLES COMPETITION. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club continued the single two life competition last week. Several surprises resulted when first year players more than held their own against older players. Last Thursday the club journeyed to Carterton for a match against six rinks of the Carterton Bowling Club. Masterton being successful by four games to two. This was the first contest played in Carterton and was an outstanding success. The following are the fixtures for this week: —Wednesday 7 p.m.. No 1. Dixon v Pickering, No 2, Anstice v Miller (colts): 7.45 No 1. Finlayson v R. Henson, No 2, Roff v Joyce; 8.30. No 1. Hearps V R. Henson (colts). No 2, Pinknel v Moore; 9.15. No 1. Hanley v Buchan (colts), No 2. Andrews v Buckley. Thursday: 7 p.m,. No 1. Grantham v Norman. No 2 Leigh v Edwards: 7.45 No 1. Ferguson v winner Finlayson and Honson. No 2. Wonham v McFarlane; 8.30. No 1. Hendry v Fenton, No 2, Ferns Game, Andrews and Ferguson (holders) v Mayes and Dixon (challengers); 9.15. No 1. Miller v S. Henson. Trade teams may be handed in to the committee which will be formed into challenge games when circumstances permi t.
