An unusual gift was received by the Minister for Industries mid Commerce Him lion. D. Sullivan) at, supper after the official opening of the New Zealand Industries Fair in Christchurch. It was a tall vase, in the form ot an urn. turned from a piece ot larch wood ;nd highly polistied. On it was the following inscription: “Larch grown at Hamner: presented to the Hon. D. G. Sullivan at the Industries Fair. 1939. by P. G. Clements. Ltd." The presentation was made by Mr. Clements, who was thanked by the Minister in a short, ■peei.h.
