ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
COMING VISIT OF MANAWATU PIPE BAND. At last evening’s meeting of the council of the Saint Andrew Society, arrangements were completed for the entertainment of the Manawatu Pipe Band at the monthly gathering to be held on September 2. The gathering is to be conducted on the same lines as that at which the Wellington Caledonians were recently entertained, and, in order to accommodate the crowd expected to attend, will be held in the Municipal Hall. Non-members will be admitted, without the necessity of introduction, at the following charges: Ladies, 2s 6d; gentlemen, 3s; juveniles (under 16), Is. In response to express request from the Manawatu Band that opportunity be provided for the Wairarapa College Pipe Band to be associated with the visiting band at the gathering, the College Band will be invited to attend as the guests of the society. T’ne Manawatu Band hopes that the College Band will join in a street parade before the gathering.
