MOTOR=BOAT SPEEDING
SIR M. CAMPBELL’S ATTACK ON RECORD. (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON. August 18. Sir Malcolm Campbell reached an estimated speed of over 110 miles an hour during trials of his motor-boat. Bluebird 11. on Coniston Lake, in Lancashire. The official timekeepers gave Sir M. Campbellls one-way run at 134 miles an hour, beating his old record, but this does not count as a record because the average of two runs in opposite directions must be taken.
