WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT HAST WELLS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Hastwclls Women's Institute was held on Wednesday. Mrs A. V. Madsen presided, the attendance being adversely affected by the wet weather. Miss A. Dick demonstrated rucked cushion work, which was watched with much interest. The darning competition resulted: — Seniors: Miss A. Dick, 1; Mrs J. Dick, 2: and Mrs K. Ngatuere. 3. Juniors: Miss K. Larsen, 1; Miss O. Halberg, 2; and Miss H. Madsen, 3. Best flower in the garden: Mrs V. Casley, 1; Mrs G. Halberg, 2; Miss O. Halberg, 3. The competitions were judged by Mesdames McKay. C. Seymour and Broadbent. The game competition which was run by the Misses Madsen resulted: Mrs K. Ngatuere. 1; Miss O. Halberg, 2; Mrs G. Dick, 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames McKay and Seymour.
