MINIATURE RIFLES BYRNE SHIELD MATCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) The two leading teams in the Bush district competition for the Byrne Shield. Makomako and Hukanui fired a deciding match on Tuesday night with the following result: — Makomako: J. Sargent. 100; F. Ebbett. R. Day, J. Day, 99; W. G. Eising. G. K. Claris. 98: G. Day. H. Ebbett, C. Garlick, 97; M. Angove, 92; total. 874. Hukanui: J. Doughtery, 100; Mrs Foss, H. C. Rassmussen, 99; J. Gardener, C. Parker. 98; R. W. Foss. H. Daldy. 96; E. R. Daldy. 95; C. R. Eddie, C. Coster, 94; total. 969. CLUB CONTESTS. On account of the very wet weather a small attendance of members attended the Eketahuna Miniature Rifle Club’s weekly shoot on Wednesday night. Messrs W. Dawson, R. Farrow and R. Duncan with scores of 67 were required to shoot off for the A grade button, tiie result being W. Dawson 62 and R. Duncan 55. R. Farrow did not compete. The B grade button was won by W. Taylor with a score of 63. Results of the second trophy shoot (first night) are: —A grade (handicap limit 69): W. Dawson, 67, 2, 69; R. Duncan, 67. 4, 69; M. T. Hansen, 64. 12, 69; W. Hornblow, 65, 4, 69; H. Price. 56. 4. 60; R. Farrow, 67, 4, 69; J. Williams, 61. 8, 69; Mrs R. Duncan. 62. 3. 65; A. Fredericksen. 54, 2. 56: R. Holford, 66. 2, 68; H. Leslie, 62, 9. 69; J. P. Sigvertsen, 60, 9, 69; H. Walton, 61. 5, 66. B grade (handicap limit 65): J. Curry, 58, 12, 65; J. Dawson, 57, 6, 63; A. G. Hansen. 62, 6, 65; H. Steer, 21. 13, 34; W. Curry, 57, 11. 65; W. Fafeita, 53. 8, 61; W. Taylor, 63. 11. 65; R. Hornblow, 58, 11, 65. The results of the first four weekly trophy shoot are: — A grade shoot off: W. Dawson, 67, sc 1 .’., 61 (winner); Mrs R. Duncan, 62, scr.. 62; A. Fredericksen, 54. 1. 55; H. Price, 56, 1, 57. Mr Dawson also holds the Hornblow A Cup for the next four weeks* his score off the rifle being 203 (210 possible).
Mr H. Walton was the winner of the B Hornblow Cup with a total of 193 out of 210, and the B grade first fourweekly trophy shoot.
