"The Times” Rome correspondent says Cardinal Loraine called on Count Ciano. The impression that peace soundings continue are reinforced by a conversation between Cardinal Maglione .and the Polish Ambassador to the Holy See and simultaneous conversations between other prelates and members of the Italian and German Embassies. A Geneva message states that the World Alliance of Christian Churches has called on the Pc'wers to call a world conference as the only way of escape from war and chaos.
