NAVY LEAGUE
LADIES’ AUXILIARY MEETING. A well attended meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Navy League was held on Tuesday, Mrs A. Caselberg (president) being in the chair. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs H. Mackenzie Douglas and Misses C. Cameron and Gray. Arrangement- for Mr R. Darroch’s annual visit to ffie schools were discussed. Mr Darroch will be in Masterton for several days from September 18 for the purpose of visiting the schools and addressing the pupils on the work of the Navy League.
The Masterton Branch unanimously decided to support a suggestion from the conference of Navy League branches in New Zealand, that a message of goodwill and.' support be sent by the Dominion President, Mr J. Sutherland Ross, to the London Navy League, to be read at the annual Trafalgar Day dinner. An invitation was received from the Pan-Pacific Women’s Association to all members to attend a lecture on China and Japan, to be given by Mr A. S. Hely on Monday, August 28. A number of books and periodicals donated by the committee for the Mission to Seamen, were packed for transport to Wellington.
