VISIT TO ISLANDS
GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S TOUR. DUE IN AUCKLAND TOMORROW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 16. The Governor-General, accompanied by Viscountess Galway, will return to Auckland on Friday in the Achilles, after completing his first visit of inspection to islands in the South Pacific under New Zealand jurisdiction. The Achilles is expected to berth at Devonport Naval Base at 9 a.m., and Lord and Lady Galway will be brought to the city later by naval barge. Leaving Auckland on July 6. the Governor-General has paid calls at Rarotonga. Mangaia, Mauke. Atiu. Aitutaki. Penrhyn. Rakehanga. Manahiki. Danger Island. Fakaofu. Nukunono and Atafu, going on from there to Samoa, and calling after that at Suva. Nukualofa and Niue. In addition to the islands administered by New Zealand, he has thus landed at others under direct British control, and has also visited the American naval station at Pago Pago.
