NEW SOUTH WALES CABINET RECONSTRUCTED FIVE COUNTRY PARTY MEMBERS. EXPECTATION OF LABOUR CHALLENGE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. SYDNEY. August 16. The Premier of New South Wales. Mr A. Mair, today announced a major reconstruction of his Cabinet, affecting five posts, which is expected to withstand the challenge of the Leader of the official Opposition, Mr Lang, when the Legislative Assembly resumes on Tuesday. The new Cabinet was sworn in this afternoon as follows: — Premier: Mr A. Mair Deputy-Premier: The Minister of Transport. Mr M. F. Bruxner. Treasurer: Mr Athol Richardson. Public Works and, Local Government: Mr L. O. Martin. Minister of Lands: Mr Colin Sinclair. Minister of Agriculture: Mr A. D. Reid. Attorney-General: Sir Henry. Manning. Minister of Labour. Industry and Social Services: Mr G. C. Gollan. Chief Secretary: Mr A. U. Tonking. Minister of Justice: Mr Vernon Treat!. Minister of Mines and Forests: Mr R. Vincent. Minister of Education: Mr D. Drummond. Minister of Health: Mr H. Primrose. Assistant Minister: Mr E. Manfred. It is likely that when Mr Fitzsimons returns from overseas he will resume his former portfolio of the Ministry of Health, replacing Mr Primrose. The new Ministry includes five Country Party men and is thus a composite administration, as it was hitherto. After the resignation of the former Premier, Mr B. S. B. Stevens, following the action of a breakaway section of the United Australia Party, headed by the ex-Minister of Works, Mr Eric Spooner, in opposing the financial and unemployment policy of the coalition Cabinet, the House held a brief formal sitting under the new Mair Ministry and then adjourned. Before the adjournment, Mr Lang stated that he intended to submit a motion censuring his Excellency the Governor, Lord Wakehurst, demanding his recall for allegedly acting unconstitutionally in not calling on Mr Spooner to form the new Government and displaying partiality toward the outgoing Premier and his administration.
