AGAINST HIGHER PRICE OF BEER. ACTION BY WELLINGTON., WATERSIDERS. (By Telegraph—Press Associa’’on.) WELLINGTON. This Day. An unofficial and impromptu meeting of waterside workers was held this morning to consider the decision of Wellington hotelkeepers to increase the price of beer, and refrain from providing drinks "on the house.” About 700 attended, and it was unanimously agreed to refrain from entering any of the hotels until the price in Wellington was reduced to fourpence per "handle." The price was previously fivepence and is now sixpence.
