WOODVILLE SALE
DIFFICULT MARKET FOR CATTLE.
A small yarding of sheep and a good yarding of station-bred cattle were submitted at the sale conducted in Woodville on Monday. The market for sheep was similar to that at recent sales.
A difficult market resulted for cattle. probably because of the weather of late The bulk of the yarding was disposed of at rates on a par with those ruling elsewhere. The fat cattle met a fair sale The quality of the offerings was not of a high standard and prices varied accordingly. Prices are: Sheep: Wether hoggets 6s 6d to 11s; aged ewes r.w. S.D. rams 6s 6d to 8s; fat two-tooth wethers 15s to 17s 6d (light). Cattle: Fat cows and heifers ex the dairy, £4 to £6; P.A. vealers £3 to £3 10s; runners £2 15s to £3 10s; rising two-year P.A. steers £5; rising twoyear Hereford steers £4 14s (small); small rising two-year P.A. and Hereford heifers £3 12s; empty two-year Jersey heifers £3 to £3 ss.
