GREYTOWN
FIRE BRIGADE . MONTHLY MEETING. (‘.‘Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on Monday evening. Superintendent J. Wood presided over a good attendance of members. The secretary, Mr Carter, was granted leave of absence owing to sickness. The question of the purchase of a bucket pump was held over till the ■next meeting. An invitation was received to attend the Silverstream Fire Brigade dance. The annual fire brigade accident dues, totalling £2 2s 6d. and other small accounts were passed. A donation of a guinea was received from the Wairarapa Trotting Club for the use of a room.
SCHOOL GAMES RUGBY AND BASKETBALL. On Friday afternoon, weather permitting, the Featherston Primary School football and basketball teams will journey to Greytown to play off their matches. As football honours went to Greytown in the last competition, Featherston will be all out to recover their loss and a good match should be witnessed. Residents of the town will be pleased to note that Greytown has two representatives. K. Matthews and D. O'Neale, in the Wairarapa Primary Schools’ team.
