JEWS IN SHANGHAI
NO MORE TO BE ADMITTED. EIGHTEEN THOUSAND RECENT ARRIVALS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.50 a.m.) RUGBY. August 14. The Shanghai correspondent of “The Times" says the Municipal Council has announced that no more Jewish refugees will be allowed to land after the arrival of five hundred now on the high seas, because Shanghai has done more than its share. The French Concession has announced a similar ban. There arc 18,000 Jews here already and 5 000 are expected before the end of the year.
