HORSES IN SYLVIA PARK HANDICAP. UNUSUAL POSITION ARISES

AT PAKURANGA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 14. A remarkable position has arisen in connection with the Sylvia Park Han- , dicap, to be run at the Pakuranga Hunt f meeting at Ellerslie on Saturday. Forty-eight horses have been accepted

' for, and the event will be run in two ' divisions, though it will be treated as ■ one race so far as the totalisator is concerned. There are only 24 units on the dial of the machine, and as a result every horse in the race has had to be bracketed with another horse. Such a position has never previously occurred in the Dominion. The brackets are: Vai Lu and Inquisitor, The Trimmer and Spearford,. High Delight and Kenneth Robert, Sebrof and Odtaa, Erlick and Brazen Bold. Our Jean and Romani.
