BOXING

RAYNER OUTPOINTS JARVIS.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, August 13

Clarrie Rayner (9.81), Blenheim, fairly decisively outpointed Jack Jarvis (9.8), Eltham, in’a 12-round nontitle professional boxing contest before a big house last night. It was their sixth meeting and the bout was not always spectacular, but there was: plenty of action to please the crowd. Jarvis left Rayner to do the leading, relying on counterpunching. Rayner was always aggressive and won six rounds to Jarvis’s three.

An eight-round supporting professional match saw Vai Borcovsky (9.6), Murchison, win on points from C. Roderick (9.4), Blenheim. The loser, who has had experience in the Australian ring, boxed cleverly but, in a bright, vigorous bout, Borcovsky's aggression gained him the verdict.
