DONORS OF BLOOD

HUNDRED THOUSAND VOLUNTEERS. LISTED IN GREAT BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. August 13. Within a month of the inception of the national emergency blood transfusion scheme the first 100,000 volunteers have been registered and listed. An official said that the first line of defence against death in air-raids has been established.. London, he said, was divided into 10 sectors for the purposes of compiling the register, and in several of these the quota, varying from GOOD to 10.000. had been exceeded, and the authorities were now registering reserves.

Nearly half the volunteers have "universal" blood in the category O, which is most useful for general trmsfusions.
