The -Japanese Minister-at-Large, Air Sot aimitsu, lias rejected a British proposal for resumption of the Tokio talks regarding the preservation of order in Tientsin, states a message from Tokio. The Domei News Agency states that the -Japanese representative. Air Kato, told the British Ambassador, Sir Kobeit Craigie. not to resume Hie conference unless the policing ol Tientsin and the economic issues were handled simultaneoiisly. The latter question is not mentioned in the latest instructions from London. A. -Japanese aeroplane over J’elcing showered leaflets on the diplomatic quarter, inscribed ‘‘Down with Britain! Exclude the British!” The British authorities have protested. In Hankow the Japanese military authorities have ordered an immediate cessation of the anti-Britisli campaign. < British troops are standing by in Tientsin, where a huge anti-Britisli demonstration is threatened.
