EI.OMFIELD BEATS MARTINEZ

A professional wrestling contest at the Town Hall on Saturday evening between Lofty Blomfield and Ignacio Martinez was won by the former by one fall. This was obtained in the sixth round when, following a wild exchange of elbow jolts, during which the referee warned both men, Blomfield tripped his opponent and forced a submission with a step-over toehold. McCREADY BEATS KIRCHMEYER. GISBORNE. August 13. McCready beat Kirchmeycr by a fall in the fourth round of a professional wrestling bout on Saturday night. The highlight occurred in .the sixth round when the referee stopped a er swing intended for his opponent and went down as though polcaxed.
SYKES DISQUALIFIED.
NEW PLYMOUTH, August 13
Three police officers stepped into the ring to restore order after Frank Sykes, New Plymouth, had been disqualified for repeatedly kneeing Paul Abe Steine, Auckland, below the belt in a professional wrestling match on Saturday night. The bout was lively and each man had a submission fall before the match finished in the seventh round.
