COURSING
MAIDEN STAKES WON BY WHITE LIE. INTERESTING TRIALS HELD. At the Akura Plumpton on Saturday afternoon under ideal weather conditions, coursing of a high standard was witnessed by a good attendance of enthusiasts. The hares once again ran remarkably well, providing thrilling contests with well matched dogs. Many brilliant exchanges took place. First one dog would have the hare in possession working his quarry cleverly and then the opposing dog would take charge to score in a similar manner. The final course brought together two well trained dogs in Mrs B. Mosen’s British Pride and Mr W. L. Jensen's White Lie, the latter proving the winner in the run off. So promising was her speed and endurance on Saturday that she has been given a place in the big nomination for the Waterloo Cup to be run this week at Hastings. Some good cup trials were also run during the afternoon. A splendid working course between Mr D. Wilson's two dogs, Big Ben and White Gold was the highlight of the day. White Gold was a convincing winner by 7J points to 2. Great "Worry and Full o’ Gay ran a good trial on a fast hare, the former dog winning by 4 points to nil. Mr J.
