WEDDING
WRIGHT—MORRIS. A quiet wedding took place in St Peter’s Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday, when Joseph Evelyn, only son of Mr and Mrs E. J. Wright, Kopuaranga, was married to Elva Lilian, youngest daughter of Mr S. Morris and the late Mrs Morris, of Palmerston North.
The bride wore an afternoon frock of wine-berry velvet with turban to match, and carried a bouquet of freezias and carnations. She was attended by Miss Linda Jordan, who wore a similar frock and turban of dull blue, and carried a bouquet to tone. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr John Tredray, of Eketahuna.
After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the bride’s home. Ashley Street. They were received by the bride’s sister, Mrs Lacy, who wore a black pin striped costume and black hat. Mrs Wright, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a black and white flecked costume with black hat and furs. The bride travelled in a black ensemble relieved with a cyclamen posy.
