An official communique states that a German .was killed in a skirmish on Ihe Polish side of the Silesian front ier. It s alleged that three iirm- ■ ed Germans attacked a Polish guard who challenged them for illegally crossing Ihe i'roiilier. (ither guards rushed up and firing broke out. The Germans fled, leaving 12 revolvers and 1000 rounds of ammunition behind. NEW BLAST BEGUN BY GERMAN PRESS. TREATMENT OF MINORITY. (Received This Day. 9.15 a.m.) BERLIN. August 11. The Press has begun a new antiPolish blast, giving prominence to alleged maltreatment of members of the Germany minority in Poland. OPINION IN ITALY SITUATION GRAVE BUT NOT DESPERATE. ROME. August 11. The “Popolo di Roma." commenting on the meeting arranged between Italian and German Foreign Ministers, says that the political situation is certainly not devoid of causes of anxiety, but they are not so grave as to arouse extensive apprehension.
