BIRTHDAY HONOURED MR GEORGE GAIN, SENIOR. (“Times-Age’* Special.) A very enjoyable gathering took place at the home of Mr and Mrs H. R. Burt, Willowbank, South Featherston, on Wednesday, when friends and relatives of Mrs Burt’s father, Mr George Gain Senr., met to honour him on the occasion of his 69th birthday. . On behalf of those present, Mr Robertson extended best wishes to Mr Gain and presented him with a travelling rug and a reading lamp. Mr Gain suitably replied. The euchre prizes were won as follows: —Ladies: Mrs A. Gain, 1; Mrs Ashworth, 2. Men: D. Robertson. 1; A. Ashworth, 2. Consolation: Mrs P. Gain and Mr Gain Senr. A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
