Mrs A. W. Ruskell, of Pahiatua, is visiting Wellington. Mrs G. Sowman, of Wellington, is the guest of her mother, Mrs J. Watson, Pownall Street, Masterton.
Mrs Algar Williams has returned to Christchurch from a visit to the Wairarapa.
Miss Mary Lawrence, of Carterton, is visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Miss L. Fisher.
Mrs C. G. Mann, of Morere, Gisborne, is spending a holiday in Pahiatua as the guest of Mrs A. Gilbert. Mrs Thomas, of Wellington, is visiting her sister, Mrs W. Marchbank, of Cambridge Terrace, Masterton. Miss Merrie Wraight, representative of the Nu-Venus Corset Company, is on a visit to Masterton and is staying at the Midland Hotel.
Nurse Davies, formerly of the staff of the Waimarie Hospital, Masterton, left yesterday for Eketahuna, where she will reside.
A London cable message states that the re-engagement is announced of the Rev. A. G. Kayll,. of Waihi (New Zealand) to Miss Elizabeth Feilden, of Watford. They will be married on October 21 in England by the Bishop of Wellington, who is holidaying in England. The engagement was first announced in 1934 but was broken off in 1936.
Mrs A. B. Smith, Dominion Secretary Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, Wellington, is spending a short vacation in the Wairarapa, and was the guest of Mrs T. R. Barrer, Renall Street, for the Little Theatre Society’s production of “Family Affairs.” Mrs Smith will be the guest of Mrs C. C. Jackson, Kopuaranga, at the weekend.
