The chairman of Imperial Airways (Sir John Reith) interviewed by the “News-Chronicle,” said: “I want Imperial Airways to carry on Empire passenger services even if we have to buy foreign planes. If I had my way we would still be operating, but there is official opposition to the purchase of foreign aircraft.”
