The badminton test match for the Whyte trophy ended at 11.30 o’clock last' night in a victory for Australia, who scored seven rubbers, sixteen sets with 317 points, to New Zealand’s five rubbers, twelve sets and 303 points. The gallery totalled nine hundred spectators. A feature was the match between McCabe, the Australian champion, and Roussell. McCabe won by unfailing accuracy. The results were as follow, the Australians being mentioned first in each case: Harper defeated-Miss Pearce 11/15, 15/5, 18/14* Misses Hewett and Robert defeated Mrs Wren and Miss Flemming 15/12 15/11; McCabe defeated Roussell 15/12. 15/3; Tonkin and Miss B. Cuthbertson defeated Spudding and Mrs Wren 15/11, 15/4; Miss Robert lost to Miss Flemming 11/7, 9/12. 3/11; Mrs Wray and Miss B. Cuthbertson lost to Mrs Hawksworth and Miss Kerr 4/15, 2/15.
