KNOX CHURCH
NEW SCHOOL BUILDINGS. OPENING CEREMONY ON WEDNESDAY. The opening ceremony connected with the now buildings at Knox Church will be conducted by Mr Duncan McGregor, son of Mr James McGregor who was the founder of Knox youth work. The ceremony will commence promptly at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday next at the front entrance in Worksop Road, after which the speaks ers and guests, followed by the congregation, will enter the hall where an enlarged photograph of the founder will be hung, together with a picture of the first Sunday School which was opened in 1866. The Assembly Hall will accommodate about 500 people and a balcony will seat about another 60. The managers have completed the programme which will be brightened by the effective singing' of a choir of 80 childrens’ voices. It. is hoped to open the building, which cost with the furniture .£lO.OOO free of debt. A collection will be taken up at the opening ceremony and if the usual generosity of the congregation is in evidence, this much-to-be-desired objective will be accomplished.
