JAMES STEPHENSON
TO REPLACE CLAUDE RAINS. The English actor James Stephenson will return to Warner Bros, from Paramount where he has been appearing in "Beau Geste.” a Warner studio report states. Stephenson will appear in the technicolour production starring Errol Flynn and Bette Davis, "The Lady and the Knight;’’ he will play Lord Bacon in place of Claude Rains, loaned to Columbia for a principal role in “Mr Smith Goes to Washington."
. “WINTER CARNIVAL” COMPLETED. . I Walter Wanger has completed “Wini ter Carnival” for United Artists release, and will shortly commence production of “Whose Wife," featuring Loretta Young and David Niven and to be directed by Tay Garnett. Ann Sheridan. Richard Carlson and Helen Parrish have the leading roles in | “Winter Carnival,” a romantic drama ! directed by Charles Reisner.
